On behalf of Scientific Committee Co-Chairs Prof. Kwun Fong and A/Prof. Tom John are delighted to invite you to attend the 8th biennial Australian Lung Cancer Conference (ALCC) in vibrant Melbourne, Australia.

For the first time, the ALCC will join forces with the Australasian Lung Cancer Trials Group Annual Scientific Meeting (ALTG-ASM) and the Australia and New Zealand Lung Cancer Nurses Forum (ANZ-LCNF) to deliver a comprehensive three-day program that will engage and unite the lung cancer community like never before.

Aligned to the recommendations of Making a Lung Cancer a Fair Fight: A BluePrint for Reform report, the ALCC program features national and international leaders from across the lung cancer community including science and research, respiratory medicine, medical-oncology, radiation-oncology, radiology, pathology, nursing, allied health and primary care.

The theme, 2020: A Time of Hope in Lung Cancer is designed to highlight the significant advancements in lung cancer treatment and unite the lung cancer community in working to achieve developments in research, treatment and care, and policy for the future.

ALCC 2020 welcomes consumer advocates with an interest in lung cancer science and research.

Dr. Marina Chiara Garassino:  As a medical oncologist, Dr Garassino has researched precision medicine and immuno-oncology. Dr Garassino main research interests include; the development of new drugs, therapeutically strategies and biomarkers. Dr Garassino has contributed to over 120 peer-reviewed publications, including credits as first or last author in the New England Journal of Medicine, Lancet Oncology, Journal of Clinical Oncology, Annals of Oncology and has delivered many presentations at international conferences including AACR, ASCO, ECCO, ESMO, WCLC.

Dr. Federico Cappuzzo: Dr. Cappuzzo has been the Director of Medical Oncology at AUSL della Romagna-Ravenna since April 2016 and has been the Director on Hematology and Oncology Department since January 2017. He has authored more than 200 papers in peer-review journals, mainly in translational research in lung cancer.

Professor Nir Peled: Professor Nir Peled, MD, PhD, FCCP, is a Professor at the Faculty of Medicine, Ben-Gurion University, Beer Sheva, Israel. He is a pulmonologist and medical oncologist. Prof Peled is the Director of the Cancer Center at Soroka Medical Center. In addition, Prof Peled is the head of the Thoracic Oncology Assembly of the European Respiratory Society (ERS) and the Chair of the Early Detection & Prevention Committee of the IASLC.  Prof. Peled focuses on the wide clinical and translational perspectives of lung cancer and studies specifically the biomarkers of lung cancer, personalized based medicine in lung cancer and immuno-oncology.

Professor Angela Tod: Professor Tod is a Professor of Older People and Care in the School of Nursing and Midwifery at the University of Sheffield. Prof Tod is a registered nurse and has spent the last 20 years working in research roles and is currently focused on lung cancer and mesothelioma patient experience studies. Prof Tod is the chair of the Lung Cancer Nursing UK Research Interest group.
