Award Descriptions

The IASLC has four distinguished awards which are presented at the World Conferences on Lung Cancer.

The IASLC Merit Award is given to a member of IASLC who has made an extraordinary contribution to the organization's development.

The Paul A. Bunn, JR Scientific Award (Formerly IALSC Scientific Award) is given to an IASLC scientist for lifetime scientific contributions in thoracic malignancy research and who has also contributed to the organization's development.

The Mary J. Matthews Pathology/Translational Research Award is given to an IASLC scientist for lifetime scientific achievements in pathology-translational research of thoracic malignancies.

The Joseph W. Cullen Prevention/Early Detection Award is given to an IASLC scientist for lifetime scientific achievements in prevention research of thoracic malignancies.
