International collegiate multidisciplinary interaction
Message to Region
Dear colleagues, lung cancer has been receiving more airplay in recent times through the publication of practice changing research, particularly in the area of targeted therapy. We need to build and maintain this momentum through ongoing research activities, advocacy and by uniting, where possible in research partnerships, lobbying for funding and promoting best clinical practice. The IASLC offers us the opportunity to interact on an international stage and to conduct our activities in the best way possible to achieve these common goals. 2013 will be an exciting year for Australasia given the hosting of the WCLC in Sydney in October. I encourage you all to invite colleagues with lung cancer interests to join the IASLC and to aim to submit any research findings as abstract
A laboratory project exploring optimal treatment in EGFR resistance; A laboratory research program establishing a preclinical syngeneic rat model for mesothelioma drug screening; A randomized Phase II study exploring two treatments in patients with progressive EGFR mutation positive NSCLC.
