Dr. Mjelle was awarded the Bonnie J. Addario Lung Cancer Foundation/IASLC Fellowship Award for 2016-2018. Dr. Mjelle’s main research interest is RNA biology and biomarkers. In 2013, he started his collaboration with PhD/MD Oluf D. Roe and became interested in the use of neRNAs as biomarkers for cancer. Today, Dr. Mjelle is involved in three different biomarker projects; lung cancer, hepatocellular carcinoma and colorectal cancer. His long term research goal is to get a better understanding of neRNAs, and to be able to use these molecules to treat patients and predict disease.
