There has been a paradigm shift in the management of patients with advanced lung cancer with the discovery of immune checkpoints and the development of immunotherapies, Immune checkpoint inhibitor therapy presents unique challenges to healthcare professionals. The spectrum of toxicities is broad, and potentially involves every organ system. Evaluation and successful management of these unique adverse events requires a coordinated multidisciplinary team of specialists. In addition, patients may be living with toxicities for extended periods impacting psycho-social aspects of their lives.
