IASLC New Committee members
Self-Nomination for Committees The IASLC Board of Directors is undertaking a comprehensive strategic review which examines IASLC committees. As the organization expands, it is increasingly difficult for board members to remain aware of the competencies of members around the globe. Therefore, we invite self-nominations from members. Nominations must be supported by at least one member of IASLC, preferably the Regent in your area. To view the IASLC Regents and to contact a Regent for sponsorship please go to our website The President and the BOD will select successful applicants to ensure geographical and specialty mix. Please understand that self-nomination does not guarantee selection to a Committee. If you or a colleague would like to contribute to this important work, please complete the Committee self-nomination form.

JTO now on Facebook and Twitter
I am pleased to announce that JTO is now available on Twitter and Facebook and is also part of the LWW Oncology Journals page on Facebook. Following JTO on Twitter and Facebook is a great way to stay in touch with the Journal and the latest research. You'll receive updates on new articles, most popular articles, published ahead of print articles, and more.

Starting January 2011, IASLC has introduced new educational programs on its Web site ( for its members and for healthcare professionals who are managing patients with lung cancer. The first program titled, “New Developments in Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer” features Professor Peter Goldstraw, MD, in a two-part presentation, that reviews the fundamentals of the new lung cancer staging system and examines the role of the TNM staging system of patients with small-cell lung cancer. The new, updated IASLC nodal staging map is also reviewed. In another presentation, Paul Bunn, Jr, MD, addresses the incorporation of molecular testing into the standard diagnostic workup of patients with NSCLC, and the selection of appropriate treatment for patients. The program concludes with case-study presentations by Drs. Bunn and Harvey I. Pass, illustrating the use of the new staging system and molecular testing.
