Dear Colleagues:
Since last Newsletter several important things have happened within IASLC. Six IASLC Fellowships/Young Investigators Awards have been awarded from many applications from all over the world. The awardees and institutions are mentioned below. More than 1400 abstracts have been submitted for the World Conference on Lung Cancer in San Francisco, 2009, and the review is currently ongoing. Ballots for the IASLC election 2009-2011 have been sent out to all the members both via mail and electronic. Deadline for voting is May 26, 2009. If you have not received the ballot by e-mail or mail, please contact the Executive Office: pia.hirsch@ucdenver.edu Please go to our website www.iaslc.org to view the ballot for election 2009-2011. For the 16th World Conference on Lung Cancer in 2015 two sites have been selected for site visits. The final decision will be made at the IASLC Board of Directors meeting in San Francisco, July 30, 2009. IASLC has recently launched a new website. Please visit www.iaslc.org and send any comments to pia.hirsch@ucdenver.edu. Based on the success of the IASLC/ESMO joint meeting in April 2008, a joint meeting is planned in Geneva, Switzerland, April 28-May 1, 2010.
