It is time for a new round of application for the IASLC Fellowship/Young Investigator Awards (please see below). We will encourage as many as possible to apply for these fellowships! The Fellowship Announcement will be announced in English, and a Chinese, Japanese and Spanish version of the announcement can be found on the IASLC website www.iaslc.org. Guidelines to apply can be found on the website too. If someone needs help with the application, the IASLC Office is happy to help. Please contact, email@example.com.
The IASLC Board of Directors finalized in September a “Strategic Planning Document”. After several months of preparation the previous – and the current - BOD met with the external consultants during some days in Denver, Colorado to finalize the document (see below). The implementation and prioritizations will now be discussed with the IASLC BOD in tight collaboration with the different IASLC Committees. Of particularly emphasis in the new initiative is the integration of nurses, advocates and other healthcare professionals into the society, and a task force was established to formalize more interaction with industry.
We have just finalized the results from the IASLC election of new members for the IASLC Board of Directors, and the results show a strong and broad representative new BOD, which will take office after the World Conference in Amsterdam. The voting percent of 56 among our members is the highest in IASLC history – and much higher than in many other large comparative organizations, which reflects a high engagement in our organization.
The New IASLC Bylaws passed the recent vote of the members.
Everyone should by now have received election material from the company Survey & Ballot Systems. If you have not received the ballot information, please contact the executive office firstname.lastname@example.org. Voting is now open (April 21 – May 26, 2011). Please vote as soon as possible.
