For most of us the summer has come upon, and we hope you enjoyed the season. In May the Board of Directors decided that Sydney, Australia will be the host for the 15th World Conference on Lung Cancer 2013.
The Board of Directors (BOD) met in February and several important activities were on the agenda. The IASLC was proud to award 7 new fellowships and 3 Young Investigators Awards each with US$ 40.000 per year for 2 years. The IASLC fellowship program is growing. The BOD would like to encourage more applicants from Asia, South America and Australia for the future applications.
Now that the 12th World Conference on Lung Cancer in Seoul is well over and we have had time to digest the presented data, we are looking forward to many other IASLC activities in the near future.
We are happy to announce many new fellowships for 2008 and all the members should encourage young investigators to apply for these fellowships. That is the future for lung cancer research and for IASLC!
