William Lockwood

University of British Columbia

Dr. Lockwood’s primary research is aimed at uncovering the genetic and biological basis of lung cancer (LC) and exploiting this knowledge for the development of new strategies to diagnose and treat this devastating disease. To achieve this goal, I have utilized a multi-disciplinary approach, gaining expertise in genomics, drug discovery and mouse models that will aid in completing the proposed project.  His career goal is to contribute to the clinical management of LC, providing patients with a better standard of care that offers hope for long-term survival. To accomplish this, Dr. Lockwood will need to complement his strong background in LC biology described above with more clinically focused projects that lead to immediate translation of research findings.
