Dave Mesko

Chief Executive Officer

Dave Mesko has primary responsibility for the overall performance of the IASLC, overseeing operations and budgeting and managing a staff of eight direct reports. Dave has a strong background in running organizations and in creating new initiatives. John Skadow

Chief Financial Officer

John Skadow joined the IASLC in 2015 and is responsible for financial planning and the daily financial management of the IASLC and the IASLC Foundation. He is also responsible for contracts management, tax and audit processes, and financial risk management. John graduated from Northern Illinois University with a B.S in Accountancy and from the University of Colorado at Denver with an M.S. in Finance.  He is also a licensed CPA in the state of Colorado. AnnMarie Estrada

Senior Director, Corporate Relations; Executive Director, IASLC Foundation

AnnMarie joined IASLC in 2017 and is leading the Foundation’s fundraising efforts and program management. Her skill-sets including business management, communications, fundraising and organization provide her the ability to build on the IASLC Foundation mission to fund researchers worldwide and support their work in conquering lung cancer and other thoracic malignancies. After owning and serving as President of a successful commercial contracting business, AnnMarie turned to a more professionally and spiritually fulfilling career in nonprofit philanthropy. Most recently, she spent 10 years managing the SME Foundation and built it to a multimillion-dollar organization to support fellowships and other educational programs for the mining and minerals industry. She is a member of the Colorado Society for Association Executives and the Colorado Planned Giving Roundtable. She is also a former member of the Colorado Veterans Project Board of Directors.

Kristin M. Richeimer

Senior Director, Membership Experience

Kristin Richeimer is responsible for increasing IASLC's membership and expanding the membership base to include new specialties and treatment providers from around the world. She joined IASLC in 2010 after nearly nine years at USA Rugby. She has a bachelor's degree in German Language and Literature from the University of Pennsylvania, and speaks English, German and French. She is the IASLC staff liaison for the following committees: Ethics, Membership, Patient Advocates, Nurses & Allied Professionals and Council of Regents. Murry Wynes, PhD

Senior Director, Scientific Affairs

Murry supports the mission of the IASLC through project management, research and technical assistance related to the current science, advances and trends in thoracic malignancies, and helping define deliverables. He will additionally assist IASLC management develop means to improve content and distribution of its educational products and services to achieve the organization’s strategic goals. Murry brings to the IASLC a strong history in project and fiscal management, clinical, translational and basic research, as well as scientific writing and presentation.

Becky Bunn

Director, Strategic Initiatives

Becky Bunn, M.Sc., works with the Director of Communications to create and implement an international communications strategy, write and edit press releases, plan and facilitate global media events, and manage communications and press coverage at international conferences. She has a diverse background in politics, public relations, and international business. Becky holds an M.Sc. in Comparative Politics from the London School of Economics, a B.A. in Political Science from Colorado College, and a Certificate of International Trade from Metropolitan State University of Denver. Colleen Miller

Director, Communications

Colleen joined IASLC in 2016 and is responsible for all internal and external communication initiatives, media relations, publications and special events. With more than 20 years of marketing communications experience in corporate, agency, nonprofit, sports and state and local government, Colleen most recently headed up the Denver Council of Governments’ Way to Go program and oversaw the region’s highly successful Bike to Work Day, the second largest in the U.S. Prior to that she spent seven years at a global technology company. An accomplished event planner, Colleen also has extensive experience in sponsorship sales and management. She earned a B.S. degree in journalism from the University of Colorado.

Kathy Doherty

Director, Human Resources

Kathy Doherty joins the IASLC at a time of rapid growth and is responsible for human resources, including coaching leaders and supporting continuous employee growth. Kathy brings a comprehensive knowledge of human resources management, employee development, employment law, conflict resolution, employee relations and teambuilding to the IASLC. In previous employment, Kathy was responsible for all HR operations, systems and programs. She has an MA in Applied Communications/Human Resources and a BA from the University of Denver, and has both her SPHR and SHRM-SCP designations. Jacinta Wiens, PhD

Associate Director, Scientific Affairs

Jacinta Wiens, Ph.D., is in the Scientific Affairs Department focusing on scientific affairs, scientific project management, scientific writing, and being a subject matter expert on thoracic malignancies. Dr. Wiens has over 15 years experience in translational and basic science research, medical device, molecular diagnostics, science policy and regulatory compliance. She holds a Ph.D. in molecular biology from the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus, a M.S. in microbiology and a B.S. in biology and chemistry from the University of Colorado.

Mary Todd

Managing Editor, JTO

Mary Todd is the Managing Editor of the Journal of Thoracic Oncology with more than 25 years' experience in journal management. She has managed Journal of Thoracic Oncology since its inception in 2006. Karen Muth

Executive Assistant and Board Liaison

Karen’s career supporting C-level executives includes serving nearly six years as the Thoracic Surgery Residency Program Coordinator and as Administrative Assistant to the Division Chief in Cardiothoracic Surgery at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. Prior to her arrival at IASLC, Karen served as chief of staff to a former U.S. Ambassador. Her background includes philanthropy, politics, postgraduate surgical education, publishing and mountain travel & tourism sectors. She holds a bachelor's degree in Psychology from Dallas Baptist University, TX. Karen is a founding parent of Colorado’s Cherry Creek Academy, an award-winning K-8 public charter school.

Kristin Ito

Patient Advocacy Manager

Kristin Ito joined the IASLC in 2016 and supports IASLC's mission by assisting with advocacy efforts. She also helps with IASLC programs and activities designed to increase membership around the world.  With a strong background in customer service and start-ups, she assists with streamlining processes related to membership and advocacy functionality. She graduated with a B.S. in Natural Resource Recreation and Tourism and a minor in Business from Colorado State University in Fort Collins, CO.

Kelsey Wood

Membership Manager

Kelsey provides support to our new and existing members around the world. A two-time AmeriCorps Alum, she has a diverse background supporting a wide variety of nonprofits and was previously working in the endurance sports industry. Kelsey graduated from Humboldt State University with a B.A. in Journalism and Mass Communications with an emphasis in Public Relations. She can be reached at Kelsey.Wood@iaslc.org.

Adam Mohrbacher

Communications Manager

Adam Mohrbacher is IASLC’s Communications Manager, responsible for managing the organization’s email communications and social media, and assisting with marketing and public relations efforts.  Before coming to IASLC, Adam worked for the University of Denver and Aurora Sister Cities International. He holds a B.A. in English from East-West University in Chicago, IL, and a M.S. in Strategic Communication from University of Denver. Adam can be reached via email at adam.mohrbacher@iaslc.org.

Emily Petoskey

Foundation Coordinator

Emily Petoskey is the Foundation Coordinator for the IASLC, and she assists in all fundraising efforts by prospecting, identifying and cultivating current and potential donors. Emily realizes the urgency for greater lung cancer research and awareness and is dedicated to the mission of the IASLC Foundation. She has worked previously as the Development Coordinator for the American Indian College Fund, and she was also on the board of the Denver Indian Family Resource Center as the Fundraising Chair from 2016-2018. Emily has worked closely with foundation and corporate donors, and she has secured partnerships with multi-million dollar corporations throughout her career. Emily has a BA in political science from Metropolitan State University of Denver.

Jennifer Hedger

Scientific Affairs Coordinator

Jennifer Hedger, M.S., joined the IASLC in 2018 and assists the Scientific Affairs Department with project management, scientific writing and technical support related to thoracic malignancies. Jennifer has over 10 years of pharmaceutical experience in research and development, product and process improvement, regulatory compliance, project management and quality assurance. In previous employment, Jennifer was responsible for directing Six Sigma projects and Kaizens and holds a green lean belt. She received a M.S. in Biology from California State University, Northridge, and a B.S. in Sports Medicine from California Lutheran University.

Julie Bishop

Committee Coordinator

Julie Bishop joined the organization in 2019 and is responsible for the management of the many IASLC member-focused committees. She spent 7 years working with cardiothoracic surgeons as a patient coordinator at University of Colorado, and has a unique understanding of lung cancer patient care and treatment. Prior to her time in healthcare, she worked in international education and recruiting for University of Colorado and as a study abroad agent for universities in Australia and New Zealand. She holds a B.S. in Business from Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colorado and a Master of Public Health from University of Sydney in Australia.

Kexin Yu


Kexin Yu is the accountant at IASLC. He earned his accounting degree from the University of Colorado at Denver. His responsibilities include preparing and verifying financial documents, analyzing budgets and conducting financial planning for the organization. Kexin speaks Chinese in addition to English and can be reached at kexin.yu@iaslc.org.
