Governance Committees

In accordance with our Bylaws, the Board of Directors establishes governance committees to support accountability, ethical leadership, and effective decision-making across the IASLC. Composed of current Board members, these required committees help ensure that IASLC policies, initiatives, and strategic decisions reflect our commitment to integrity, inclusion, and advancing progress against lung and other thoracic cancers worldwide.

Audit Committee
Audit Committee

The Audit Committee shall assist the Board of Directors in its oversight of the Association’s internal control systems, risk mitigation, financial reporting and compliance with legal and ethical standards.

Executive Committee

The Executive Committee shall have the power to transact all regular business of the Association during the period between board meetings, subject to any limitation imposed by the Board of Directors, by the Bylaws, or by the law.

The Finance Committee shall review the draft annual budget and submit a final budget to the Board for approval.

The Governance Committee shall periodically review the governing documents and propose such changes as may seem necessary after giving due consideration to the need for continuity in the Association’s governance, the international nature of the Association’s Membership, and diversity in gender and medical specialty.

Nominating Committee

The Nominating Committee shall, after giving due consideration to the need for continuity in the Association’s governance, the international nature of the Association’s Membership, and diversity in gender and medical specialty, be responsible for the nomination of candidates for election as officers and directors of the Association.
