The IASLC Academy is a global professional development program for early-career physicians pursuing academic careers in thoracic oncology. The program combines personalized and group mentorship with faculty-led education. The program focuses on professional and career development, networking, and scholarship through the development, execution, and presentation of a personal research project by each participant.
Throughout the program, participants work closely with internationally recognized mentors from diverse thoracic oncology-related specialties to develop a research project. Mentors provide structured guidance on project development and support participants in developing essential skills in key areas, including communication, presentation, grant writing, and navigating research funding. In addition, mentors help participants address global challenges by fostering problem-solving approaches tailored to the unique contexts of their disciplines and home countries.
